Forging process where the workpiece is placed in a permanent form and processed using the pressure of a slanted and oscillating die. Beskrivning The process Heated workpiece is placed in a stationary lower mold after which an inclined oscillating die is pressed against the surface with an applied pressing force. This presses the workpiece and shapes it according to the mold. An upper mold having an angled slope is pressed during rotation down to the workpiece so that only a small part of the workpiece is machined by forging. Since the contact surface is relatively small at any given moment this allows the required pressing force is significantly lower than for axial pressing. The method is similar to rotational molding where the die and the form are rotated synchronously. Rotational molding Plastic forming process where a molten material is rotated in a closed mold to create a hollow part. Read more Orbital forging
