Vacuum shot blasting

Blasting process where both the abrasive agent and dust are sucked up and separated.

The process

An abrasive is sucked from a tank by a flow of compressed air and hurled through the blast nozzle [1] onto the material surface. By vacuum suction both the abrasive agent and the removed material and dust is sucked up [2] and then separated from each other.

The dust is collected in a container, and the abrasive agent is returned to the tank to be reused in a cyclic course.

Advantages and disadvantages
In comparison with alternative methods
Wide range of abrasives
No need for costly safety measures
Meets environmental standards
Easy to use
closed circuit that allows a continuous use of abrasives
Less effective on irregular surfaces
Ineffective for large surfaces
