The process

A liquid photopolymer is placed between 2 glass discs with distances. A computer-based positioning system is used to position an ultra-short pulse NIR (near infrared) laser. A special camera is used to monitor the real-time polymerization process.

The laser is focused three-dimensional and swept inside the liquid photopolymer to solidify the photopolymer along its path.

This method has a resolution of about 100 nm and is used to create complex microscopic 3D objects.

After the section is created, the excess material is washed away.
