Surface coating process where the workpiece through an anode-cathode reaction is coated with a layer of tin and lead. Beskrivning The process Before processing can begin the work should have been pre-treated to achieve a clean surface, which is usually done by electrolytic cleaning followed by pickling and rinsing. The workpiece acts as cathode and the surface coating agent, in this case, an alloy of lead and tin, acts as the anode. Both are immersed in a solution which vary in composition depending on the material, the desired process speed, and the final result. An anode-cathode reaction is created by the voltage applied, causing the metal ions to leave the anode and migrate through the liquid to the part where it’s applied as a thin layer on its surface.
