Beskrivning The process The tool consists of a probe [1] which is positioned close to the burrs to be cleared. The entire workpiece is usually immersed in a dielectric, i.e. deionized water. Connection via power supply allows the probe to act as cathode and burrs as anode. When the electrode is brought close to the burrs occasional spark discharges occur. The discharge means that the burrs are melted and vaporized. Dielectric also helps to cool the process and carry away removed material during the time the probe is moved towards the burrs.
